Mr Harold Joaquin Tarun
- Technician - Thermodynamics
Harold Tarun graduated from Holy Angel University (Philippines) with a Bachelor of Science major in Electronics and Communications Engineering in 2001.
From 2001 to 2006 he worked for JAGAA Innovators Corporation as Electronics Design Engineer under Research and Development. He was responsible for embedded hardware and software design work with single-chip micro-controllers using specific assembly language and ANSI C. Part of his work is to perform failure analysis, PCB design, build and test prototypes and test procedures making sure every customer specifications are met. Between 2003 and 2006 he accepted a part-time teaching as Assistant Lecturer in Holy Angel University handling digital and analog electronics, control systems, microcontroller and electronics CAD for PCB subjects. In 2006 he was an Electronics Trainer and Consultant at Stratex Networks (now Harris Stratex Networks) who is responsible for analysis, test, repair and reprogramming of microwave E3-carrier systems.
In 2007 Harold joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering specialising in electronics and instrumentation for the Thermodynamics Laboratory as technical support. He is involved in electronics, instrumentation, data monitoring and logging, and virtual instrumentation and control with some embedded work. Working from freezing temperatures of -45 degrees centigrade up to temperatures substantially in excess of 500 degrees centigrade.
