Mechatronics laboratories

The facilities that support mechatronics teaching and research within the faculty are spread over several laboratories, inclusive of the Mechatroncis Project Lab, the Mechatronics Postgraduate Lab, Mechatronics Teaching Lab, Manufacturing System Lab, Control & Dynamics Lab, Microfabrication Lab, Brain Computer Interface Lab and the Acoustic Lab.

The laboratories are home to a variety of specialist equipment, including:

Other supporting equipment includes a range of laser cutters, laser sensors, force sensors, a network analyser, arbitrary waveform generator, frequency counter, signal generators, digital storage oscilloscope, multimeters, and computer-based data acquisition equipment.

These laboratories also support modelling, data acquisition, processing, simulation and control, using software such as Creo, ANSYS, Matlab, LabVIEW, SimMechanics, dSpace, and more.
